Fake It Till You Make It

Fake it till you make it. Do you agree with this saying, much popular among freelancers, solopreneurs and consultants?
Fake it is justified because nobody is giving you work till you prove your success. That is ironical.
But I whole heartedly support the 'slow and steady wins the race'. That way you will get small assignments in start, will manage them efficiently and will gain rapport among the clients.
You will have data to support your mattle. You will have good reviews, you will have good references.
I have seen every other people profiling themselves as an expert and capturing leads but do not have a basic understanding or capability to understand their queries. That is fcking shameful.
Fake your standard. Fake your success. But not beyond your knowledge and capability. One bad review is worse than three good reviews.
